The Lapiti, jackrabbit-kin of Eryndral: Shards of Eternity, evolved from jackrabbits in the Woodlands of the former Australian Outback, their fur typically brown or tan, with some parts crystallized during their mutations into shimmering shades of emerald, ruby, and orange topaz, reflecting the Katka Heart’s influence. Speaking Lapitian, a language of soft, rapid chirps, they dwell in burrows built into the ground and hills, their underground warrens a maze of chambers for sleeping, storing, and gathering, offering safety for their timid, shy nature. Despite their small stature (5–6 feet tall) and quick movements, the Lapiti are cautious, darting through the forest with agility to evade threats. They elect their leaders, such as Lyssa Violetdash, every three years through a democratic vote, prioritizing wisdom and caution in their governance. Their main industry is leatherworking, tanning hides from forest creatures to craft durable harnesses and pouches, often embedding crystallized fur fragments for added resilience, which they trade across Eryndral.
