Tion

Brunde Thornspear

The Tion, simian-kin of Eryndral: Shards of Eternity, evolved from a diverse array of primates, thriving in the dense Tion Jungles with fur in shades of black, brown, orange, and grey, their hues blending seamlessly into the jungle’s shadows. Speaking Verdispeak, a language of guttural hoots and sharp barks, they construct tree houses woven into the treetops, their homes built around and inside ancient trees, with platforms and rope bridges connecting their arboreal villages. A militaristic society where hierarchy is paramount, the Tion choose their leaders through brutal combat, believing only the strongest—like their current alpha, Gorak Ironfist—can lead, with each victory reinforcing the rigid chain of command. Their main industry is crafting weapons and armor, forging shard-infused blades and vine-woven shields in treetop forges, their creations designed for both jungle warfare and trade across Eryndral, often imbued with Katka stones for enhanced durability. Culturally, the Tion hold the Trial of the Canopy, an annual event where warriors

compete in treetop duels to ascend the hierarchy, their victories celebrated with primal chants that echo through the jungle. They also practice a ritual of “Vine Binding,” where new warriors tie a vine around their wrist, symbolizing their loyalty to the clan, a tradition that reinforces their militaristic unity in Eryndral’s unforgiving wilds.
