Vyrkol

The Vyrkol, a sinister race in Eryndral: Shards of Eternity, mutated from humans subjected to illegal genetic experiments in Area 51, now haunting the toxic wasteland of Duskreach, their gaunt, 7-foot-tall forms marked by tar-like black skin and glowing crimson runes that pulse with malevolent energy across their chests, a haunting remnant of their experimental origins. Speaking Umbracyn, a language of hissing whispers and guttural snarls, they dwell in hidden lairs carved into the deepest chasms and ruins shrouded in darkness, as well as within and around the crumbling Area 51 bunker, their presence cloaked in shadow. Banished centuries ago after a failed attempt to dominate Eryndral, the Vyrkol are a parasitic, cunning race that thrives on chaos, feeding off fear and discord, their predatory nature making them the 12th evil race feared across the land. Ruled by a single tyrant—currently Klythe Shadowveil—chosen through betrayal and cunning, their leadership is a brutal game of deception where only the most
ruthless survive. Their main “industry” is subterfuge and the creation of dark artifacts, crafting shard-corrupted relics and cursed talismans in their forges, which they use to sow chaos and manipulate others, trading these malevolent items to further their schemes. Culturally, the Vyrkol perform the “Rune Binding,” a ritual where they carve new crimson runes into their flesh to mark significant betrayals, each scar a testament to their cunning ascent. They also hold the Night of Shattered Oaths, an annual event where they revel in the chaos they’ve sown, sacrificing captured foes to fuel their dark magic, a tradition that reinforces their parasitic legacy in Eryndral’s fractured world.
