Worme

Lira Packheart

The Worme, canine-kin of Eryndral: Shards of Eternity, evolved from dogs in the resilient Worme Plains, their fur a diverse array of black, white, brown, red, blue, grey, tan, and orange, reflecting the varied breeds they descend from, each hue a testament to their vibrant lineage. Speaking Canivox, a language of barks and howls that carries across the plains, they live in short, sturdy buildings and homes surrounded by expansive yards, where they cultivate their fields and gather as families. Valuing loyalty and family above all, the Worme are a friendly people, their warm demeanor welcoming to all unless backed into a corner or mistreated, at which point their fierce protective instincts emerge. They elect their leaders, such as Lira Packheart, every four years through a democratic vote, ensuring their community remains united and supportive. Their main industry is growing fruits and vegetables, tending to orchards of apples and carrots in the plains, their harvests—often infused with Katka shard essence

for enhanced growth—traded across Eryndral to sustain its people. Culturally, the Worme celebrate the Harvest Howl, a quadrennial festival coinciding with their elections, where they gather to share their bounty, howling in unison under the moon to honor their pack bonds. They also practice the “Pack Pact,” a ritual where families exchange carved wooden tokens to pledge lifelong loyalty, a tradition that reinforces their familial devotion in Eryndral’s fractured world.
